Best of Facebook Apps - Gun Bros

Gun Bros is a fast pace 2-D top-down shooter. Fans of the old school Smash TV for the SNES will love this game. You get a choice between two playable characters and begin the run and guns chaos that is Gun Bros. Overall its a fun and addicting Facebook game that provides hours of mind numbing fun. Something to note about Gun Bros is that the music is catchy as hell and really makes this app stand out.

Oh, what fun it is to shoot and dodge!
With no particular story the Gun Bros Facebook game is more about shooting and killing your way to gold coins so you can level up, buy new gear and make your avatar stronger and looking like a bad-ass. This Facebook game doesn't require friends. But if you have Facebook friends who will actually play this game and take it serious and really try, it is well worth it. In order to get the most out of this game, you just simply need to spend time playing it. Your avatar starts at level 1, each round you gain experience for killing enemies. The higher you level up, the more items you unlock in the store. There are several different levels to choose from and more unlock as you progress.

As you kill enemies, power ups and bonus experience has a chance to drop from enemies. You collect these by running over/through them. You can also buy power ups from the shop between levels. Powerups range to everything from bonus damage to a bomber run that clears the entire level.

How To Play Gun Bros

When you first load up the gun bros Facebook app, you choose between two avatars. Not much in the way of customization. You're either the big bad tough looking white guy, or the big bad tough looking black guy. Both are apparently cigar smokers. I guess that's a feature that deems you an official bad-ass.

You will spend the majority of your time in a map, chosen by yourself, in which you roam around shooting at enemies while dodging enemy missles and enemies altogether. There are also destructables which you can shoot at. Exploding barrels, after a few shots, explode doing crazy damage to enemies. You're also followed by a companion thats weaker that snot, unless you recruit one of your friends (and assuming they are stronger than you). For each enemy you kill, you gain experience and explodium. Explodium is a resource you collect that is converted to coins. At the end of each match, the explodium you earned is exchanged for coins.

The exchange rate depends on the payout you select. Each payout option is either on a time limit, a daily use or can be purchased with Facebook coins. If you're one to play for hours, chances are you'll be stuck between the 50% payout and the 100% payout (which is on a cooldown). So, if you collect 100 explodium and cash out with the 50% payout, you will gain 50 coins.

Competitive and just plain fun!

Gun Bros features a fun Player vs Player game mode that can be quite fun so long as you only battle friends around your same level. The PvP is played the same was as the normal game but without all the extra enemies. Fighting friends is a great way to see all the different eye candy and goodies gun bros has to offer as most of your friends will have different gear. And just for giggles, you can friend a really high level player and fight him. Sure, you'll die in seconds but it shows you what you've got to look forward to. It can also show you who to recruit when your doing the single player endurance mode. As any facebook friend you have that plays the gun bros app, can be enlisted as your tag along partner in mayhem. Their gear and stats are all part of the package, so if you have friends playing gun bros, be sure to keep their spirits and up and remind them to keep their gear updated as they can actually help you progress.

This is possibly the only Facebook game that I've to play that uses an achievement system. It also has a poor mans version of a dressing room, which allows you to see what your avatar would look like in different gear. And as with every Facebook game or Facebook app, its not required to spend real cash on gun bros but it always helps.

Have fun and go shoot em up!

Aside from map unlocks, gear unlocks and PvP, gun bros doesn't strive to be innovative in any way. The graphics are decent and the game runs smooth enough to give you hours of enjoyment. It's got most of the bells and whistles you'd come to expect this type of game. The musical score is awesome and really makes the game stand out. But after a few minutes, gun bros can become a monotonous bore if you're not a die hard fan of the genre. I, personally, got tired after 10 minutes and don't see myself re-visiting gun bros on Facebook again unless I'm bored and have some time to kill. All in all, gun bros is a very solid and function Facebook game that is at least worth a look. Give it 10 minutes and if you aren't bored to tears, you may just very well love this game.
